The Pontiac Community Foundation is guided by a dedicated team of leaders and community champions who are passionate about strengthening Pontiac. With diverse backgrounds in nonprofit leadership, philanthropy, and community development, our team works collaboratively to steward resources, build meaningful partnerships, and advance initiatives that create lasting impact for residents across our city.
Dustin McClellan
Founder and CEO
Dustin McClellan is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Pontiac Community Foundation and has led the organization to mobilize more than $12 million in investment in Pontiac. He previously served as the Pontiac Director of The Power Company Kids Club, which provides leadership and character development to more than 1,600 children in the Pontiac community.
Dustin also serves as Board Chair of Dream Centers of Michigan, Co-Chair of the Sheriff’s Relations Team, Immediate Past Chair of Leadership Oakland, and as a member of the Board of Directors of CultureSource. Dustin was honored as a member of the 2017 Oakland County Executive’s Elite 40 Under 40 class, the 2021 Crain’s Detroit Business 40 Under 40 class, and the 2022 Michigan Chronicle 40 Under 40 class. He received the 2021 Most Valuable Entrepreneur of the Year Award from Corp! Magazine, is a 2023 Paul Harris Fellow, and was named a recipient of the 2025 Black Excellence Award from Oakland County.
Dustin is a Pontiac native and has served on various community boards and commissions in the city, including the Pontiac Housing Commission, the Master Plan Steering Committee, as an advisor to former Mayor Tim Griemel, and as a key member of Mayor Michael McGuinness’s Transition Team.
Jonathan Borowski
CFO
Jonathan Borowski is the Chief Financial Officer of Pontiac Community Foundation, managing all business and financial operations. With a passion for finance, Jonathan brings a unique perspective to the organization’s programming, partnerships, and overall growth. He believes that strong stewardship and a robust financial infrastructure are essential for fulfilling the Foundation’s mission.
Previously, Jonathan served for eight years as COO and CFO for Key of Hope USA/South Africa, a nonprofit supporting the community of Durban, South Africa. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics Honors with a University Honors Co-Major from Wayne State University.

Jamila Anderson
Executive Administrator
Jamila Anderson serves as Executive Administrator at Pontiac Community Foundation, where she manages office operations and provides crucial support to executive leadership. With years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Jamila has overseen after-school programs, summer camps, and youth mentoring initiatives. She is an Oakland Community College graduate with an Associate in General Studies and is dedicated to advancing PCF’s mission through her organizational expertise and passion for community impact.
Emma Kartes
Director of Philanthropy
Emma Kartes is the Director of Philanthropy at the Pontiac Community Foundation, where she leads the creation and implementation of fund development strategies, cultivates donor relationships, and manages marketing initiatives. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Public and Nonprofit Administration from Central Michigan University (CMU), where she also achieved the Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) credential through the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance (NLA).
Prior to her current role, Emma gained valuable experience as the Mawby Intern at the Council of Michigan Foundations, where she oversaw and contributed to the growth of youth philanthropy initiatives across the state. Her leadership abilities and commitment to the nonprofit sector have also been demonstrated through her role as Executive Director of the Nonprofit Leadership Student Alliance (NLSA), where she mentored her peers and executed meaningful community service projects.

Derrick Loruss
Director of Transportation
Derrick Loruss is the Director of Transportation at the Pontiac Community Foundation, where he manages daily programming, community partnerships, and the operations driving the M1 Mobility initiative. A proud resident of Pontiac, Derrick is passionately dedicated to the PCF mission of fostering a brighter future for the city. His enthusiasm for serving the residents of Pontiac fuels his collaborative efforts with local organizations, aiming to create a lasting positive impact within the community.

Ramon Valentin
Program Manager
Ramon Valentin is a Program Manager, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the Pontiac community. Raised in Pontiac, Ramon has been an active volunteer since the age of 14, demonstrating his dedication to making a positive impact.
Previously, he served as the Community Engagement Director at The Power Company Kids Club, where he excelled in building and nurturing relationships with local nonprofits and businesses throughout the Metro Detroit area. With a passion for fostering the prosperity of urban communities, Ramon is focused on empowering the next generation to take pride in their neighborhoods and contribute to their development.

Denise Harris
Prevention Coordinator
Denise Harris is the Prevention Coordinator for Pontiac Prevention, a substance abuse coalition supported by the Alliance of Coalitions for Healthy Communities. Driven by personal experiences—the loss of her father to a heart attack and her brother to an overdose—Denise brings 21 years of experience as a registered nurse to her mission. She is passionate about educating and empowering others with life-saving skills to prevent similar tragedies.
In addition to her role with Pontiac Prevention, Denise leads Healing Hearts Safety Services, where she offers a range of training courses to the Greater Pontiac community, including First Aid, CPR/AED, Basic Life Support (BLS), and more.
