Pontiac’s Housing Future
Addressing housing challenges requires collaboration across sectors. These initiatives bring together community partners, nonprofits, and local leaders to expand housing options, revitalize neighborhoods, and support residents on their journey to stable, quality housing. Together, we are building a more equitable and resilient Pontiac.
Oakland County Regional Housing Partnership
The Oakland County Regional Housing Partnership is a multi-sector collaborative supported by the Michigan State Housing Development Authority to address the affordable housing gap across the
state. One of fifteen such partnerships across the state, the Oakland County Regional Housing Partnership has three areas of focus; preventing and ending homelessness, affordable housing
stock, and community education about affordable housing. Each focus area consists of a dedicated group of individuals with decades of experience with housing in Oakland County.
Pontiac Community Foundation has guided the steering groups as the project manager for this work, regularly hosting and facilitating conversations across 30+ organizations to make housing
more affordable and attainable for Oakland County residents. By employing an innovative regional planning approach, the Regional Housing Partnership will help to close Michigan’s
affordable housing gap by 2027.
