Donor Advised Funds (DAFs)

What is a DAF?

A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a philanthropic vehicle that allows groups and individuals to make charitable contributions, receive an immediate tax deduction, and recommend grants to their preferred causes over time. When a donor contributes to a DAF, their funds are held in a dedicated account managed by a sponsoring organization such as a community foundation. The donor retains advisory privileges, meaning they can suggest how and when funds are distributed. This structure provides flexibility, ease of management, and potential tax benefits while supporting meaningful causes.

Why Invest with PCF?

Investing your Donor Advised Fund with the Pontiac Community Foundation is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the local community. With in-depth knowledge of Pontiac and strong relationships with local nonprofits, PCF ensures that contributions are directed where they can create the most significant change. The foundation manages administrative responsibilities, allowing donors to focus on their philanthropic vision. By joining with other donors, you amplify your impact and help strengthen the community.

At PCF, we are committed to honoring donor intent while maintaining discretion, transparency, and accountability. Our staff and board operate with integrity and ensure that contributions are used in alignment with donor wishes.

The Pontiac Community Foundation works to engage DAF contributors to foster sustainable growth and positive change. By building a network of philanthropic partners, we support local nonprofits, advance community projects, and address critical needs such as education, health, and social equity—creating lasting impact for future generations.
