Born and raised in Pontiac, Michigan, Jamila holds a great love for the city of Pontiac (Huskie Pride). She currently resides here with her husband and children.
Jamila spent many years serving at the Power Company Kids Club, serving at her local church, assisting in after school programs, tutoring elementary students, serving at summer camps, and mentoring. Jamila attended Oakland Community College where she received her Associates in General Studies.
She believes that there is so much greatness and success here in Pontiac that oftentimes gets overlooked. However, she is thankful for the opportunities and resources the Pontiac Community Foundation has to offer the community and believes Pontiac is only going to get better.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, crafting, journaling, DIYs, and just about anything that has to do with design. Jamila is ecstatic to be a part of the Pontiac Community Foundation team.
