About the Grant

Healthy Equity Council Mini-Grant

The Oakland County Health Equity Council, in partnership with Pontiac Community Foundation, is providing mini-grants to address the ongoing systemic and racial health inequities exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. By partnering to provide organizations that meet the Health Equity Council’s funding priorities, the Oakland County Health Equity Council seeks to further support organizations that address the continued, demonstrated needs of Oakland County residents who experience the direct and indirect impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Funds shall assist local organizations in accomplishing the following goals:

  • A reduction in COVID-19 disparities in impacted communities, specifically among Michigan’s five racial ethnic minority populations.
  • Planned reduction of community-identified priority risk factors, development and implementation of practices and policies to reduce health disparities and improve health outcomes.
  • Community-driven, not agency-driven, decision-making and priority setting.
