Zharia Terry serves as the Community Engagement Coordinator for the Pontiac Community Foundation. Zharia is a creative and dynamic individual striving to make positive impacts in the lives of others. She is passionate about uplifting community voices, providing great experiences and helping others reach their full potential. Zharia has vast experiences in the health field, education system, working with social services and catering to the underserved population.
Zharia holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Michigan State University. She is also an alumnus of Challenge Detroit, a community development fellowship, where she led multidisciplinary teams to help build capacity and provide consultations for non profit organizations throughout the city of Detroit. She has been trained in Stanford’s Design Thinking Model which takes a human-centered approach to problem solving, ensuring to create innovative solutions that implement community voices. Zharia also serves on various community boards and continues to volunteer her time and expertise wherever is needed.
Zharia enjoys assisting at her church, anything food related (cooking, youtube videos, restaurants etc.), catching new movies on $5 Tuesdays, traveling and spending time with loved ones.
Zharia is a Pontiac native who is excited to be a part of the progressive work in the city she loves so dearly!
